  Why Sports Massage?
Sports Massage is a style of bodywork that addresses the particular needs of athletes. Sports Massage is a special type of massage and is used before, during and after sport, as well as off-season, pre-season and post-season massage. The purpose of the massage is to prepare the athlete physically, to relieve swelling, to reduce muscle tension, to remove fatigue, to increase flexibility and to prevent injuries. Sports Massage uses a variety of techniques including Neuromuscular Technique,
Soft Tissue Release. Friction Technique and Muscle Energy Technique. The final 'essential' is a masseur who knows the individual's needs and the demands that their sport has on their body, and how to deal with those demands with Sports Massage.

Can Sports Massage help my injury?
Yes it can. Sports massage has been proven to reduce recovery time, sometimes dramatically, by shortening the time it takes for injuries to heal, and makes the after effects "better". Sports Massage reduces the swelling and Oedema associated with soft tissue injuries. After a serious injury, Sports Massage helps form strong pliable scar tissue instead of the usual random stiff scar tissue, so that range of motion and tissue extensibility are maintained.

Will just one Sports Massage "make me better"?
Sometimes. If you have tightness in your neck or shoulders for instance, you will feel a difference after one treatment. This may not last long term as it probably took you an extremely long time to get that way. It's unrealistic to expect a permanent 'fix' from one Sports Massage.
